The Junkin' Gods where generous to us this week!...We didn't have to look hard to find treasures worth bringing home....
Our work table has received a good dose of supplies... Vintage seam binding...can you believe these colors?
Wonderful vintage clock faces...can't wait to alter something using these....
The most exquisite laces...
and rhinestone pieces...PRETTY!!!
How about a nice chunky frame...we can never have enough of them...
at $5.00 already painted, it will be a great base for a new project!
This cutie was also $5.00...a FAB 1940's wooden suitcase covered with the shabbiest and super chic fabric...Gorgeous!!
Not bad uh? Now, if you would like to show us what you found this week, link using the Mr. Linky gadget below and please don't forget to mention in your post that you are participating in Junkin' Monday!
It came in the mail a few days ago, but I waited until today, my birthday, to open it.... because, well... I wanted to have one more birthday gift!
It was so so well wrapped...in a little box, with a so so cute pink paper and a so so feminine pink bow...
Inside, a key chain tag with my initial in the center, and around it...my Husband's, my Son's and my Daughter's names.
All so so beautifully done...
This was SoSoBella's Giveaway prize and I feel so so lucky to have won it!!!
I like it so so much that I think I'll use it as a charm for my favorite necklace!
If you have never visited Kristy, stop by her wonderful blog or her website... I bet you'll enjoy her personalized and hand stamped pieces and feel inspired by the photographs she takes of her two gorgeous fairies!
Thank you once again, Kristy!!
Now I'm out to enjoy the rest of my Birthday...family, soccer and "The cheesecake factory"...ahhh...life's good when you are 25!!!! LOL!!!!!
Nothing works harder in the decorating world than baskets.
Metal, wood, wicker, you name it...they are all over our homes!... but in honor of White Wednesday, today we are only showing the white ones we keep around....
They hold our potpourri...
and become still lives on our kitchen counters...
They greet us every time we come home...
and hold some of our favorite treasures...
And judging by the pictures, no bathroom is ever finished for us, if a white basket is not holding our Toilet Paper!
Welcome to our 3rd Junkin' Monday! We are glad you stopped by and if you have some treasures to share, don't forget to add your link at the end of this post!
This week was not one full of treasures, but the ones that came our way are full of potential!
We also hit the rhinestone jackpot... lots of sparkling beauties for $5.00...this low price will allow us to use these oldies in our new projects while keeping a very reasonable retail price!
During her junking adventures, Clara found this beauty:
A very vintage but very chic patent leather purse.... in excellent condition inside and out.
We have listed it for only $15.00 in our website...at that price it could be next week's someone's Junkin' Monday treasure!!
Our last finding this week: enough letters to spell LOVE and M&E... vintage, small and adorable!!!...
we are definitely keeping these...
Now it's your turn to "Show and Tell"...what have you found this week??? Don't forget to please, mention you are participating in Junkin' Monday and visit the other participants!
Activity is closed now...Thank you for participating! We hope to see you again soon!
We received lots of mail yesterday asking for the tutorial of our paper roses so Ladies, grab your latte and follow us to the work table...
We start with a pile of stained coffee filters...we drink instant coffee so we hand stain each filter but you can use the used coffee filters out of your coffee machine...(let them dry and get rid of the coffee first!)
Depending on how full you want your rose to be, you can work with one or two filters at the time. Fold it in half:
From one end, start wrapping the paper, not too tight...
all the way to the end...
The side from where you are holding your rose, will look like this:
We wrap an easy to twist wire around the end....
and while we watch some T.V...
we play with each petal, shaping them like the real ones ...
Once we have made a few roses, we form our bouquet. This is a picture of the back...
You can cover the stems with some vintage binding, but we love the contrast between the vintage look of the roses and the silver wire...
Now, if you don't have time to make your own bouquet, you can purchase one HERE. For $12.00 (including shipping) you get a bouquet of 6 large roses and 2 buds.
Our roses are very easy to use in a bouquet or individually... You'll get enough roses to decorate your chandelier, like we did in our previous post, make a beautiful indoors wreath or finish up a Fall vignette...
Hope you enjoyed our simple tut and will give it a try! Hugs, Marcela & Clara
