We had this customer's sign for weeks waiting for a makeover. Great sign, the problem is that it won't be displayed in "La Cucina" anymore. It will be living in a Family Room we are re-designing...
We will try to give it a cleaner, simpler, bolder look. The transformation started...no turning back now...
While the two heavy coats of white paint dry, I wait for Ms. Inspiration to hit me....
No, that wasn't Ms. Inspiration, that was Sister Extraordinaire hitting me across the head and saying: "Get with the program and start working, the deadline is just around the corner!"
Black acrylic paint...Italian words...some pressure and voila!...
A new sign, much better suited for our Family Room Transformation.
If you would like to see it in its new home, you'll have to come back next Thursday when we reveal the whole new look!
With 4 teenagers now between the two of us, Halloween is just not what it used to be... How cute are they???? This was Halloween 1997...
With time, even our decor has changed. No more spider webs or scary moving rats or talking skeletons... Now we decorate with a less scary but more sophisticated look... Are you up for a tour? Come in, let us show you what we mean...
Welcome to Clara's house...
where subtle touches in the entryway will let you know that this family is ready for the Season...
The dining room table: Pearls, crystals, and rhinestones happily mixed with burlap and straw...
Shells are replaced by a collection of "fall" paintings, pumpkins and gourds...
More black and orange on the mantle...
Inside the china cabinet... (The sisters tag was made by Chas at the Wild Raspberry: Adorable!)
and under the cloches...
Yes, things and times change...and as we look back, of course we feel a little nostalgic, but we choose to look forward and get excited for the good things to come because...

Not a lot of junkin' goodness this week... On Friday there was only one Estate Sale in our area and they had nothing worth bringing home... A short drive to an antiques store we visit from time to time, a run into a Dealer we always buy from, a "Can you use some bottles?" and a "Can you do better on the price???" and we walked away with some...
The ones already altered are the ones we showed last Monday.
Back to the car.... Let's stop at the Salvation Army... Clara (aka Ms. Luck) is not with me now so I'm not holding my breath, I never find anything at a reasonable price here!... $3.00 later, I got a new cloche... Well, better than nothing!
My last chance for some junkin'... my own garage. Hey, a girl needs her fix!!!
Look what I found! A vintage, metal tool box (heavy!!)...
Bought it some time ago for $15.00...but never really used it... All those cute drawers...
Up we go, to the working table. Now I have a new place to keep my papers, photographs and all kind of findings for my altered pieces.
I know, I know... there is something seriously wrong when a person junks in her own garage...but I don't care... My box is happy to be "working" again (she told me so!)...and that's all it matters!
How did you do this week? Did you score big? Oh come on, show us...
Thank you so much to all that participated in this month's giveaway and to all of you that visit us often and leave such wonderful, warm comments...you are very appreciated!!

Yes Ladies, it's hard to believe but it's already Wednesday...time to show some whites!
Today is all about white pottery...
From collectible McCoy to unmarked beauties, Clara loves them all!
The only requirement: it has to be white!
Inside the china cabinet...
and on top of it...
Holding succulents in Spring,
and pumpkins during Fall...
Clara's collection is always growing because she rarely leaves a Flea Market without first adopting a "new" piece.
Now you know one more thing that makes my Sissy's heart skip a beat!
Before you leave us to visit all the White Wednesday participants, don't forget that today is the last day to enter our Giveaway, click HERE for a chance to be the lucky winner!

We share a passion for all things old, cottage and chic! After 10 years of retailing, we have closed our San Clemente store but you can find us now at our Space in Country Roads, Orange, CA (Space #135)
We are constantly shopping for vintage and antique treasures: ironstone, china, linens, accessories and small pieces of furniture that we can rescue and give a new life to, so don't be surprised to see at the Flea Market on Sundays mornings!
Thank you for visiting us,
Clara & Marcela
