Happy November!
Monday came very fast this week...so fast that we haven't uploaded our pictures yet!
We'll be back a little later, after sending the kids to school and Husbands to work to finish our post...

PART II:
We are back!...Kids off to school, Husbands off to work...time to pay, Yipee!!
Only one trip to the thrift store this week, but we are not complaining as we found some keepers..
A nice wooden frame, not old, but a great base to transform...even with just a coat of white paint is looking better!

A beautiful oil painting, wonderful warm, Autumn colors for only $6.00 became Clara's new addition to an ever growing collection...

A "Family" sign, at $0.99, Clara couldn't let it go...the aqua colors are made for her home...

A vintage silver plated tray, not in perfect condition...just like us!

but the wonderful piercing detail, the monogram and the $3.00 tag were too much to resist!

Our Thrift Store Field Trip was completed with an ironstone tureen...
No chips, no cracks...just adorable at $5.00!
Soup anyone???

We woke up this morning and found our French Gentleman Bust

Pure glam...right there in a corner, just waiting to have fun...

"Signs" of change...

We had this customer's sign for weeks waiting for a makeover.
Great sign, the problem is that it won't be displayed in "La Cucina" anymore.
It will be living in a Family Room we are re-designing...

We will try to give it a cleaner, simpler, bolder look.
The transformation started...no turning back now...

While the two heavy coats of white paint dry, I wait for Ms. Inspiration to hit me....

No, that wasn't Ms. Inspiration, that was Sister Extraordinaire hitting me across the head and saying: "Get with the program and start working, the deadline is just around the corner!"

Black acrylic paint...Italian words...some pressure and voila!...

A new sign, much better suited for our Family Room Transformation.

If you would like to see it in its new home, you'll have to come back next Thursday when we reveal the whole new look!

With 4 teenagers now between the two of us, Halloween is just not what it used to be...
How cute are they???? This was Halloween 1997...

With time, even our decor has changed.
No more spider webs or scary moving rats or talking skeletons...
Now we decorate with a less scary but more sophisticated look...
