To shop or not to shop....

I'm not a shopper. No, not me.

So when something jumps at me from one of Michael's shelves right before a friend's birthday, I'm happy.

And when that little something is a white and cute crown candle holder, I'm very happy!

And when that cute little crown costs me only $3.50 including the candle...
Oh boy, I'm really, really happy!!!

So happy, that I buy 2.
One for my friend Norma, "The Peruvian Princess", as she calls herself
and the other one for Clara, the "Queen of white"!

Now I have a question:
When you buy something for someone you love and you spend a lot less than you first expected, do you buy something else to compensate or do you stay with your choice not worrying about the price?

Notice that we are talking about spending LESS than expected...

I saw those crown candle holders and thought they were very cute. There's some very sweet home decor at Michael's right now.

I LOVE to buy gifts, and since I live and breath "this business", of course I buy more!
Take care, Sue

i came back over to visit you...after you had visited me. came by way of your profile - and i gasped!!!! i saw that you are from the oc/san clemente area.

i live in tennessee now. BUT my favorite place on earth is laguna beach. IN FACT, right before i came to visit your blog - i just posted a "valentine dream getaway" and have a pic of laguna beach on my post.

not that you wanted to know all of that. but i thought it was random, but also appropriate because i really did just post it a few minutes ago.

ok, i'm rambling. cute gift find for your friend!

It's the thought and not the cost that counts. When it matches someone perfectly, that's all that matters. And, of course, some extra little handmade goodies will make it even more special without any additional cost. Have a great weekend. Blessings, Tammy

Bon, pour tes questions, je ne suis pas certaine d'avoir tout compris, aussi je vais m'abstenir !!!
Plein de bisous et belle fin de semaine.

Oh, that's a tough call. I think it depends on the person I'm buying for. p.s. I received my fabulous pillow from you a few days ago and it is even more gorgeous in person - thanks so much!

These are fantastic! I really had to stop and think about your question. I'm not a shopper either, but I'd probably add a litte something extra to the package - just because. :)
Wishing you a Very Happy Valentine's Day!

I always stick with my choice!

Those crown candle holders are darling.

Here is where you can find the tutorial for the fabric rosettes I am making:

I would make a cute little card or tag to go with the candle set - and then if your friends are into crafts - add a little gift card from Michael's too!

I should just buy the the right gift and be done with it no matter the cost, but I always feel like I need to spend a certain amount. Great find I hope to get to Micheals soon.

Oh my gosh...this was my story last week. In fact my friend's birthday was the 12th and I found a gorgeous gift for her {bought one for myself too} for less than $10...so what to do? I made a yummy Kahlua chocolate fudgy cake for her to indulge in as well.

A perfect gift, is a perfect gift no matter the cost. It's the love in it.
