Pretty in Pink

I did something that I never do:
I got a manicure.

A total treat for me!

Because I'm always painting
or sanding
or hammering,
(and most of the time don't care for gloves!)
manicures don't last
and I feel like somehow I'm wasting my money.

But because things (I mean hands)
were out of control
I went all girlie girlie
and got myself a set of 10 pretty pink fingernails!

I can not say I enjoyed the process.
But I sure love the results!
the only problem is that now,
I don't want to paint,
or sand,
or hammer...
I don't even want to do the dishes!!!

All I'm willing to do
(other than look at my pretty pink fingernails)
is work with something soft and warm...
like vintage sweater scraps.

So here you have it...
a cute, warm, soft, chickie that didn't ruin my manicure!

the box I made some time ago...
I'm not gluing either!! LOL!!!

I have never had one, always did my own, but I have thought many times to have it done just to see what it's like.
I'm glad you treated yourself and you may just come up with some really cool things while you are admiring your beautiful nails.
Hugs- Tete

You are so funny but I understand. I would do a whole lot for a pedicure! Or a massage for heaven's sake.

That chickie is adorable! Maybe you should make more friends for him while you enjoy the manicure. Your nails look so pretty in pink, and remind me how Valentine's day is coming soon. Yay!

Your nails are gorgeous, Marcela. I never get manicures myself because a) don't have the time and b) they get ruined so quickly, so I totally understand how you feel now, not wanting to do anything. I think your needle and thread idea is a good one though - your sweet birdie is adorable!

Very nice ! We will go for manicures together when you are here. I have not had one yet, I am too shy to go alone and try to speak Spanish :)

I, like you, dislike the process but love the results. I, like you, am always in some kind of artistic medium and was at first afraid to get my hands joyfully dirty. Two words...rubber gloves. I pick up a pack of medium surgical gloves at the local med supply store and I'm good to go. My manicure is intact and I can play with my toys to my hearts content. Sea Witch

Hi there! That little birdie is too cute. I have also really enjoyed seeing your creations from your latest obsession, soldering. I will be taking a class soon and I can't wait! Your friends will be blown away with their personally hand-made gifts.
Blessings to you,
Missy

Love your fuzzy chickie and your pretty pinkies. I'm just like you, I have more projects that require paint etc. But I DO need some help for my poor hands.
Hope you're have a great start to the new year,
