White Wednesday

My romance with paper continued for a couple of days last week when I found some plain journals waiting for a makeover.

I used some of my favorite elements:
vintage photos, ribbons ,

buttons, antique lace...

I arranged them, glued and sewed...

until they were ready to record someone's intimate thoughts...

And then, I started to wonder...
do people write journals these days?
or
are all our intimate thoughts kept in some program inside our computer?

Those are beautiful, you've done such a great job arranging all your vintage bits and bobs!! I'm not sure how many people still use journals, but I think once they see yours they'll certainly want to!

Journals can be the most wonderful legacy you can leave your loved ones. I do garden journals, even those share and preserve a part of me. Yours are so lovely, something special made by your hand.

I couldn't agree more! Let's not forget the beauty of the filled up page, complete with scribbled notes and scratched out words and doodles on the side. I love your journals!

How beautiful, I love the way you have decorated the journals. I still use them, though not so much for recording my thoughts or feelings but for taking notes through talks and recording prayer points etc! xx

So beautifully done, Marcela. They are so wonderful, of course they would inspire someone to write in them, the old-fashioned way :) p.s. are you going to be selling them in your etsy shoppe?

Great job on the journals. I really like the saying "One day at a time". Great place to write your thoughts daily. Isn't it fun to get out all the papers, lace and old photos and just create. I wish I had more time for it.

Take care,

Kathleen

Oh I wouldn't dare trust them to a computer file. Computers are funny creatures sometimes. I love journal writing and certainly I don't do enough of it. My children are always asking when they can read my many journals that I kept as a young mother and I tell them they can when I no longer know who they are.hehe...there's some private things in those old books!
Your new creations would make a special place to write secrets.
