Got Pew??

I drove about 8 miles from one side of Orange to the other side, to Country Roads, trying to convince myself....

"It's not that long"

"It's not that heavy"

...while watching and hoping that the cars behind me would notice the red flag at the end of the truck.

By the time I got to Country Roads, I started to admit it was long. About 4 feet were hanging out off the truck.

By the time Carol helped me move it into the store, my treasure had started to get heavier....

By the time the little 5 year old shopper told his Mom "That's gigantic!!", I knew I had broken my promise of not buying large, heavy pieces...

But it's so cool!!

Chippy white paint,

Great carvings on the sides...

Lots of names carved on the back and painted over and over....

It's definitely long...very long...no matter from which side you look at it...

10 1/2 feet, to be exact.
10 1/2 feet of coolness looking for a new home...

I do the same thing. I tell myself either it's not that far away or it will fit. The pew is beautiful. I am new to blogging and spent some time this morning reading your posts. Your blog is a treasure trove. I will be back. Thanks for sharing.

I love it, good for you!!! I always wave and smile to women when I see them hauling something like that, cause I know they are on a "mission".
You did good, it is just awesome!!!!

I love it! I bought a church pew off of craigslist a few years ago much to dh's chagrin. Now it is at my kitchen table. The perfect place for multiple kids to sit. I get many compliments on it too.

I "totally" missed the names craved on the back! It is such an awesome piece, I love it. Lots of interest in it. Of course anyone who just wants to buy it NOW, can call 714.532.3041 and purchase it over the phone! Of course you have to come fetch it!!
Take care, Sue

That is a cool chippy pew! I keep telling myself that I'm not going to buy anything else that is heavy or bulky to move, and then I see something cool and forget my promise.

OH MY GOODNESS!

Thank you for 2 things:
1. posting a comment on my blog - I've missed you girls!

2. introducing me to this fabulous new store - I LOVE Old Towne Orange - and its time I get over there to treasure hunt.

Have so much fun with your pew - can't wait to see what you do with it!!

Have a sweet day!

This is fabulous in all its white chippy goodness. It probably wouldn't be that much to ship it to Oregon, would it? hahaha Enjoy it while it lasts!

The "story" is always so fun to hear...but then's there's getting it from point A to point B....that's another story within it self. Wow! what an awesome piece...did it fit into your space? I've had that problem before...my space it always in my mind is larger that it really is!
Have a great rest of the week!

Hi! Just stopping by via a link from Faded Charm. Your post makes me smile so much, and such a great find! It reminded me of going out with my dog recently and finding a really cute antique 5 gal. bucket. My dog and I had to trek the 6 blocks home carrying this big clunky treasure all the way back to our home. I kept saying "it's not the far...."
