You probably already know that Clara and I were born without a thumb...
a green thumb that is!
Just to prove our point, let us share our hydrangeas...

Not matter how much time we spend on the garden taking care of them, this is what we get:
or...2 flowers a year, no leaves, plant has not grown in the last 3 years!
We got to the conclusion that gardening is not fair.
This is what our older sister, Ana, gets...
even though for her, the garden is just that green space in the back of the house where to enjoy a cigarette break!

From now on, Ana's garden, will be that space in the back of her house where Clara and I can steal hydrangeas from!

Hydrangeas can be quite finicky, so don't be hard on yourselves. For one thing, they need quite a bit of water. You girls just haven't found the right plants for the right place. Perhaps you should try some succulents - they're very trendy now and don't need a lot of water.
Don't worry I can't get them to grow either...and I was walking by a house that has been vacant for almost a year and low and behold there lies the most beautiful hydrangea EVER...what the heck. Perhaps I need to take up smokin' too! :)
I totally understand! Mine have some beautiful green leaves!
Try something easy to start with, seriously. Honestly, I don't do a whole lot to my garden. Just make sure its watered, a little snail stuff so they don't eat everything. I think you need to come down to Country Roads and step out back to Johnnye Merles and we'll help you pick some easy plants!!
I can't grow hydrangeas! I have tried and failed! Can we all sit in your sisters backyard and enjoy her hydrangeas? !!! I'll bring the ice tea.

Hydrangeas are my FAVORITE flower! Nothing comes close to the amazing blooms they give. I've heard they're not easy to grow. At least you have access to some fresh grown blooms ;-)
