Friday...

end of the week...

And end of the month!
July is leaving San Clemente without giving us
even one day of real California warmth,
not even one real beach day!


We now sit and hope that August will be a little more generous...

About our daily life...

A couple of days ago, Tara asked in one of her posts what we, (her readers), do for a living and what makes our heart sing. Well, she got us thinking...She knows what Clara and I do because she is one of the customers that visit our store regularly, and even when we can't say we really "make a living" with it (we only help two hard working husbands!) , having our store, sure makes our heart sing!...

We get to be surrounded by pretty stuff...

We look and shop for oldies....

We get to create...

...meet wonderful people, and read some awesome magazines...(research purposes!)

And we get to "play house" each day,

All of that, before going home to our families...

...to carpools, laundry, grocery shopping, and many, many soccer games!...all things that also make our hearts sing...

Candles in every room,

fresh linens,

chocolate,

inspiring magazines

and the time to read them....

good quality towels,

"adopting" a shabby piece,

finding the perfect paint!

Those little things that make our day a little special...the simple things that help us celebrate our It's-not-my-Birthday Day. Some of them change with us, with our age, with our mood, while some others just stay the same. Steady pleasures that walk close to us, waiting to be enjoyed...Very simple things that somehow, sometimes, become luxuries....

Some gardening,

a clean car,
