more than I care to admit, I took home this wooden box. As many pieces that have followed me home, it came without a purpose or a reason...
I tried to work on it many times, but it always seemed like a huge work and I was never able to imagine the final product.
About 5 years ago got a wooden applique and coats and coats of putty... only promises, nothing concrete! 3 Wednesdays my wooden box made the sad trip from the garage to the curve... and those same nights the trip back to the garage.
Last week it finally happened, out with the applique, lots and lots of sanding, primer and of course, white paint.
My wooden box and I were re-connecting.
What better way for my transferware collection to make the trip LA-Buenos Aires than inside of my very sturdy wooden box?

Once we settle, my wooden box will be perfect as a coffee table... the move from a 2400 sq. ft. home to an apartment half the size involves some creative storage!
On Christmas Eve... the good wishes fill up the room.
At midnight, after a delicious dinner, and lots of laughter... we all sit next to the Christmas tree.
Years ago, when the kids were little Santa used to knock at the door, or run on the roof, and even show up in the middle of the living room...
Back then, the kids sang and performed for us while waiting until midnight. Now, we play Pictionary and wait anxiously until the moment we can open our presents...
Midnight of the 24th, is technically Christmas morning...isn't it? Well, close enough! On Christmas Day, we wake up very late, and by one or two o'clock in the afternoon we get together again eat some more laugh some more and start thinking about the New Year's Party!
From our home to yours, all the best for this Holiday Season. No matter how you celebrate, and what you celebrate may your family be safe, healthy and surrounded by love!

Not only to a new home, but to a new city. Well.... actually, to a new "old" country.
My family and I are moving to Argentina in July.
Big ...huge move that involves lotst of: Do we take it? Do we leave it? Do we want it?
Do we need it?
The list of things to move with us will change numerous times on the months to come, but some things like my magazines, need my attention right away. My baskets,
boxes...
and piles...
are being tackled, analyzed, categorized, transformed and reduced (the magic word!).
While watching HGTV, I sit on my rocking chair... (shhh she will not be making the trip, but doesn't know it yet!) and go thru them all... cut save discard
so far I have a Recycling Ideas Folder...
a Cool Crafts Folder....
An Inspiration Folder...
and a Fave Quotes Folder...
I also have a "They are crazy folder".
That's where I keep people's thoughts about our move... and it's already full.
I remember being 7 or 8 years old and selling my pasta necklaces to the neighbors of my old Argentinian neighborhood.
Every time a door opened and "jewelry" was purchased from some nice lady, I got closer to my dream.
When the first day of school arrived, I was so proud! Not only I had the shiniest shoes of the whole school (thank you, Dad) I also had a brand new leather bag to carry my books...
...product of my pasta necklace selling business.
When Zita blogged about her Son's creations offered for sale on Etsy I had to buy! The wonderful package arrived yesterday with a sweet note from V. thanking me for his first sale.
What he doesn't know is that I'm the thankful one... His beautifully handmade linen bag reminded me of those long gone days... the walks around the old neighborhood with my Mom, the happiness of making my necklaces, the excitement of selling them and the pride I felt that first day of school....
For me, the sweet linen bag, is much more than that... it's a bag full of memories!
Thank you, V!
