White Wednesday

To cover...
or not to cover?

Bought this 6-arm lamp
from my neighbor.
I wasn't in love with it
until I took it out of the box
and shot this pictures...

My idea was to re-cover each lampshade,
with some burlap,
or maybe some tan linen...

Just so they don't look so generic...

but I can't make up my mind.
What do you think??
To cover or not to cover
before selling it???

I know my Blogging Pals
will have the answer to that!!

SOLD!
(just as the picture shows it)

While I keep thinking about it,
I'll visit all the White Wednesday Gals....

How can you not be crazy about it? It's looks fabulous sitting just where it is. I really like the look of burlap covered lampshades right now. I'm sure what ever you do it will look great.

Take care,

Kathleen

You're selling it? I say either option would look good but I'd go with Linen personally as it is so fancy...

I vote cover, it will give it a more custom look, which means more$$ if you are selling it:) Thanks for stopping by!

I say burlap! You know how we sell a lot of burlap stuff at Country Roads. I do know that whatever you decide to do, it will look awesome!

Take care, Sue

It's a great looking lamp already. I think a little linen fabric on the shades would make the whole thing fabulous!

A little burlap, a little lace trim, a little rhinestone bling....that should do it!

It is just beautiful, I would add lots of white trims to the lamp shades rick rack braid, lace, textured fabric etc. but keep with the white or antique whites add texture rather than colour. JMHO

I vote for gathered linen. Oh, was that even on the ballot?

I vote for covering and my choice would be a linen or linen like fabric. To me it seems to fit the lamp better. Let us know what you do!

I think it's beautiful and I think burlap shades would be just the right touch!

It's gorgeous, love it. I'd use cheese cloth for the shades!
Happy WW ;)

I love the lamp and think that burlap with a touch of lace would be gorgeous!!!

Yes, linen. But I also think the candle sticks could use something. If you don't like faux candles, I saw someone cover the plastic with music sheets.

You can't sell that. It's so beautiful just as it is.

Oh my I think it is stunning! Ummmmm, I think it would be fabulous covered, but it might limit people to a certain preference. I am sure whatever your decision it will turn out gorgeouss! Oh yes and the stencil was in a package from Walmart I believe.

I'd sell it without the shades-it is too pretty to cover up-it would grab my attention in any booth that way!

You know me... anything with toile makes me smile.
But I did see something the other day that looked interesting.. lace. If you covered the existing white shade with white lace. It changes the light coming through and just gives texture without being an actual print or color.
It would look good down here :)

Oh I adore adore adore all the whites! So lovely together! Thanks for your sweet comment on my blog....please drop me a line and let me know if you make the wreaths b/c I'd love to see how they turn out! (I'm a big fan of the coffee filter wreath, and they'd look perfect with all your whites!)

As much as I love burlap... I'd have to say either cover them in linen or take the shades off altogether.

Happy WW! This is just stunning and I am sure when you work your magic it will be a unique one of a kind treasure!

Looks great as is, Marcela, but I'm liking the idea of burlap. Another idea would be a gathered fabric ruffle on the edges of the lampshade if you're not recovering them, just to give them a little extra something.

What in interesting lamp, I just love it! I almost wonder if it would look good without any shades at all. But I do like burlap too. You always make such interesting shades, so I'm sure whatever you do will look super cute!
Blessings to you,
Missy

I just covered some on an old chandelier with burlap and love the look with the crystals.
