Got Pew??

I drove about 8 miles from one side of Orange to the other side, to Country Roads, trying to convince myself....

"It's not that long"

"It's not that heavy"

...while watching and hoping that the cars behind me would notice the red flag at the end of the truck.

By the time I got to Country Roads, I started to admit it was long. About 4 feet were hanging out off the truck.

By the time Carol helped me move it into the store, my treasure had started to get heavier....

By the time the little 5 year old shopper told his Mom "That's gigantic!!", I knew I had broken my promise of not buying large, heavy pieces...

But it's so cool!!

Chippy white paint,

Great carvings on the sides...

Lots of names carved on the back and painted over and over....

It's definitely long...very long...no matter from which side you look at it...

10 1/2 feet, to be exact.
10 1/2 feet of coolness looking for a new home...

Weird Bird

Birds are flyin' south for winter.
Here's the Weird-Bird headin' north,

Wings a-flappin', beak a-chatterin',
Cold head bobbin' back 'n' forth.
He says, "It's not that I like ice
Or freezin' winds and snowy ground.

It's just sometimes it's kind of nice
To be the only bird in town."

Shel Silverstein

Talking about Weid Birds...Tonight is the American Idol Season Premiere...
Two full hours of auditions...
many "Weird Birds", we are sure...
We can't wait to see Ellen!

Happy Monday!

Sometimes,
all you need is a little embellishment to make the pretty even prettier...

And sometimes just rescuing a vintage treasure makes the trick...

Have a creative and immensely inspiring week!

You asked...

so we share!

The magnets from the previous post were made using these:

lids from the frozen concentrated juice cans
Hey! I never said they were healthy or low in calories!

The letters were printed on regular cardstock, six letters per page....
Cut, glue, and of course I had to add a little glitter around the edges because...

Well, because everything is better with a little bit of glitter!!!
A magnet glued on the back and....

Ta da!!!

I guess things haven't changed much after all!!

Recycling at its best!

Don't throw the

away!!!!
I have said that many, many times.
How many?
This many....

I knew that eventually I was going to have an

to recycle them.

The family made fun of

but I didn't really care!

I love my magnets!
Some of them were even used as table settings for our Christmas Lunch table...

and some other ones work hard holding coupons on the fridge.
Yes, I love my magnets!
They are fun, inexpensive, easy to make and they are as cute as
