A "Romantic" surprise!

The January issue of Romantic Homes brought us a surprise...

My home was featured!
What it was supposed to be a Sister's article, was divided in 2 different issues so now we'll have 2 special magazines on our coffee table because Clara's home will be featured in a couple of months!!

Jacqueline, the Editor and Mark, the photographer, were just great and made us feel at ease right away...The very casual interview was done by Jickie Torres and I love the way she kept it simple and so unpretentious...

I like the fact that she wrote the truth, (although she was a little skeptical): when my Husband and I first started, we were broke and many things that we still enjoy, came from the curbside....

Sorry for the bad scan quality...those weird stripes on the wall are not really there, the wall is solid sunny yellow...

Weird stripes...again...

We were very fluttered when they decided to feature our home, but the real compliment was when they didn't change or add anything before photographing it!

I must say that of all the pictures they took (more in the magazine) my favorite is this one:

They used it on the first page, the page of "Contents"
My simple rolls of vintage music inside my re purposed tomatoes can...Simplicity at its best!

Now, if you would like to see the real pictures without the crazy stripes, don't forget to get your January Issue!

Thank you Romantic Homes!

A very Regal White Wednesday ...

A collection of vintage papers,
vintage pearls,
German Dresden
and silver glitter....

A very White Christmas look for one of the girls....

And mainly white with some accent colors for the other ones....
(not sure if they are 100% White Wednesday material but we really wanted to share them!)

Even Lil Creepy looks better with a crown...
Like we always say..
"If the crown fits...."

Thank you Katherine for hosting White Wednesdays!

White Wednesday Project

Boring...is not always bad because it gives you the opportunity to put a spin on it and make it...if you are lucky...a little more interesting.

Remember the boring box we found while junking?

Nice wooden box, oak to be more precise...
Easy surface to transform...
Perfect size for jewelry or secrets...
Affordable, we only paid $4.00 (although after visiting other sites and reading how little you girls pay for your treasures in some other parts of the country, everything sounds expensive to us!!!)

Old white paint came to the rescue once more...and with the help of old hardware, the little wooden box got a whole new look....

Some stain later, distressing and she got a little extra charm....

some vintage music sheet in the inside finished it all off!

Simple transformation, easy project...great satisfaction!

Now go and look for a blank canvas where to express yourself...
and if you need more white inspiration, visit:
Faded Charm, you won't be disappointed!
